Your Honeymoon Questions
How far ahead should we book our honeymoon?
Six to nine months ahead is a comfortable window for most destinations, and closer to a year for overwater villas or peak-season dates. It gives you the widest choice of rooms and flights.
Is an all-inclusive resort worth it?
It is worth it when you plan to spend most of your time at the resort and enjoy drinks and dining there. Read what is really included first: some packages leave out spa treatments, excursions or à la carte restaurants.
When is the best time to travel?
It depends on the destination: the Caribbean is driest from December to April, the Maldives from November to April, and the Greek islands are at their best in June and September. Each of our guides gives the season month by month.
How can we travel well on a smaller budget?
Travel just outside peak season, choose one great hotel instead of several average ones, and consider destinations closer to home. Our affordable honeymoon guides list the places where your budget goes furthest.
Should we tell the hotel we are on our honeymoon?
Yes. Many hotels and resorts mark the occasion with a small welcome gesture or an upgrade when available. Mention it when booking and again at check-in.
